Sorry this took so long... I just got out of the hospital yesterday and it has been a long week! J. Austin Parrish was born on July 22nd at 9:55pm. He weighed 8lbs 6ozs and was 21 1/2 inches long!
This was definitely a crazy experience... just to give you a quick summary of how the week went. As you all know I had not been progressing very much so they decided to have me come in on Monday the 21st to get cervical gel. I was there until about 8:30 pm and they gave me some sleeping pills so I could get a good night's rest because at 7 am I was back in there to be induced. The sleeping pills didn't work and I was up all night... figures! I got to the hospital on July 22nd and everything was going as planned... I was hooked up to pitosin, my water was broken and I started going into active labor. My blood pressure was really high so they diagnosed me with gestational hypertension. They were worried that my body could be too overworked and decided to give me an epidural at 2 1/2 cm so that my body could relax. I was also put on Magnesium which makes you feel like you have the flu... so I was feeling not so hot! I was slowly progressing throughout the day and thinks were looking good for a vaginal delivery which I was really excited about... then at about 3:00 pm I stopped progressing at about 5 cm. They said that neither I or the baby were in danger so I decided to keep going. I progressed to about 7 1/2 cm and then when I got checked they noticed my cervix was starting to swell. The night ended up leading to an emergency c section because he got stuck in my pelvis and my cervix was starting to swell shut! It was a very hard day but it is over and now so worth it!..... Here are just a few pictures of the little guy and I will update more when I feel better.

Even with everything seeming a little more difficult than you would have liked, I'm glad to hear that everything turned out well and you do have a handsome little boy!
